China’s crude steel and hot-metal production declined month on month again in September.
Crude steel output reached 73.59 million tonnes, marginally higher year on year.
Hot-metal production was 65.34 million tonnes, down 1.4% from September 2025.
January–September crude steel output fell 2.9% to 724.77 million tonnes.
Weak construction demand and squeezed margins continued to discourage higher operating rates.
