Southeast Asian billet import prices rose to $490-500 per tonne CFR Manila and Indonesia, supported by higher scrap, coking coal and coke costs. Buyers continued to resist offers near $500, although Indonesian buyers were seeking cargoes to replenish inventories. North European HMS 1&2 scrap into Türkiye increased to $370.67 per tonne CFR, following a new European booking. Weak Turkish finished-steel demand and continued billet imports are likely to restrict further scrap price increases.
