Emirates Global Aluminium restarted 315 of the Al Taweelah smelter’s 1,262 reduction cells, increasing the restoration rate to 25%. The producer expects hot-metal output to return to pre-incident levels during the first quarter of 2027. Its alumina refinery remained at approximately 50% capacity, with further recovery dependent on supply-chain conditions. Despite the gradual restart, regional aluminium premiums softened as alternative supply reduced some of the earlier tightness.
