South African UG2/MG chrome ore remained stable at $286 per tonne CIF China, while Turkish lumpy ore held at $340-350 per tonne. Chinese ferro-chrome declined by 50 yuan to 8,000-8,400 yuan per tonne despite higher coke and electricity costs, mainly because stainless-steel demand remained weak. European high-carbon ferro-chrome increased slightly as buyers returned from the summer slowdown. In manganese, high-grade ore CIF Tianjin fell 2.7%, but semi-carbonate ore and most ferro-manganese prices increased, suggesting stronger support for lower-grade feedstock and alloys.
