PT Smelting restarted its production line on August 24 following approximately two weeks of maintenance after a converter-furnace leakage incident. The facility has annual copper cathode capacity of 342,000 tonnes. The outage caused some shipment delays and initially lifted regional offers, but the overall market impact remained limited due to weak physical demand and extreme LME backwardation. Southeast Asian copper cathode premiums remained at $110-140 per tonne.
