Chinese portside manganese ore indices strengthened, with high-grade and semi-carbonate material both gaining 0.70 yuan per dmtu. Silico-manganese rose to 5,650-5,740 yuan per tonne, while the lower end of ferro-manganese prices increased to 5,100 yuan per tonne. Stronger futures and increased smelter bookings supported the recovery. However, high port inventories and elevated production costs continued to limit the market’s upside.
