approximately \u00a391 per MWh for electricity in 2026\/27.<br>That compares with \u00a361 in France and \u00a379 in Germany.<br>The association estimated a \u00a366 million annual disadvantage against French electricity prices.<br>It proposed a mechanism compensating industry when UK wholesale prices exceed a European benchmark.<br>UK Steel argued that competitive electricity costs are essential for investment and the transition to lower-carbon production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-2\" style=\"background-color:#fff7f0\"><strong>United Kingdom \u2014 Light iron scrap remains stable<\/strong><br>Domestic grade 5C light iron scrap held at \u00a3115\u2013125 per tonne on October 16.<br>Processors reported balanced incoming merchant material and outgoing deliveries to shredders.<br>Steady mill and foundry demand provided little reason to change purchasing prices.<br>Shredded scrap exports also remained unchanged at $368.49 per tonne FOB.<br>Participants expected the domestic range to persist through the remainder of
