- Emirates Global Aluminium expects its Al Taweelah smelter to return to full production during the first quarter of 2027.
- The plant was damaged by missile and drone strikes on March 28, resulting in an emergency shutdown.
- By August 26, EGA had restarted 315 of the smelter’s 1,262 reduction cells, representing approximately 25% of capacity.
- Its proposed Oklahoma smelter, developed with Century Aluminum, could add 750,000 tonnes per year of US primary aluminium capacity.
- EGA also acquired an 80% interest in Italy’s Eco Green, raising its global recycling capacity above 400,000 tonnes annually.
